The purpose of the stalls is to raise money for school activities and resources, such as school trips, visits to museums and theatres, workshops etc. The money raised by the two classes within each year group is divided equally. This is to ensure fairness to each child within each year group.
Stall funds will be primarily used for school activities that have an educational component, in accordance with the objectives of the F&SA constitution.
Many activities are booked a year in advance and many are linked to class projects. For these reasons, it is the responsibility of the individual class teacher(s) to decide on an appropriate class activity for each year group.
It is strongly advised that school funds are spent during the course of that specific year. Any remaining funds will be carried over for the same year group to be spent the following school year.
Stalls take place on Friday after school from 3.15pm by the school office, usually next to the large wooden gate of the reception playground, so that the stall is not causing an obstruction to the many users of the school office entrance.
Each year group has two stalls over the course of the year. Classes of each year group can decide whether to run the stall together or individually.
The William Tyndale Treats Calendar is distributed at the beginning of the school year via email and a copy is also placed on the F&SA notice board opposite the school entrance.
Volunteers, us parents and carers!
Volunteers are always needed to set up the stall on the day (from about 3pm). This involves pricing the treats, selling them and tidying up afterwards. If you can help out, please let your class representative know.
It is the class representatives’ responsibility to ensure that enough volunteers have been arranged in order to:
- Set up the stall in time for 3.15pm
- Sell the treats
- Tidy up afterwards
(The premises manager will arrange for a table to be put out for you and they will also remove the table after you’ve finished)
Treats can be left in “Homebase” on Treats can be left in “Homebase” the Friday morning of your stall or brought directly to the stall in the afternoon. Homebase is a small room at the back of the school next to nursery class.
The William Tyndale Treats Stall Box is kept in Homebase, the box contains all you need to set up your stall (i.e. tablecloths, paper bags, napkins etc.). A list of items is included in the box, please make sure that you put everything back and notify the class representative or the F&SA of items that are running low so that they can be replenished in time for the following stall.
Each class/year group is responsible for disposing of leftovers. Please be sensible to avoid ending up with a lot of unsold goods. Consider giving leftovers away for free instead of simply throwing them out (ask kids club, they can sometimes collect leftovers).
Everything is sold at either 50p or £1, however we have a £1 minimum for card payments.
This is to ensure fair prices across all year groups.
It is for each class to decide how much to sell items for, and a mix of the two prices is
ok. Year groups might want to consider how they manage keeping track of costs if
they are opting for both price points (i.e. a table for £1 items and a table for 50p items).
Both cash and card payments are accepted, and it is for each year group to decide if
they want to accept cash.
Card payments can be collected via QR codes or card readers.
Payments accepted via QR codes are free, payments via card readers incur a fee.
Card payments are minimum £1.
Please download and print your year group QR code (or have it on your phone) and collect two card readers from the school office before setting up the stall.
Make sure to print the QR for your year group as each QR code is unique to the year group.
Card readers and QR codes are linked to the F&SA bank account.
If accepting cash, please note that cash has to be paid into the F&SA bank account. You can pay using a QR code or via bank transfer.
A float of £10 is kept in the school office. Please ensure that when you return it to
the office, it has £10 in coins ready for the next year group.
After each stall, class representatives and teachers will be informed of the amount collected and this will be added to each year group balance. It is the class representatives’ responsibility to inform their class of the amount raised.
Each year group now has more flexibility in what they would like to sell on their stall.
Items approved by the school are currently:
– Treats (healthy alternatives are also encouraged, such as fruit kebabs
and popcorn as well as vegan and gluten free options if possible)
– Books
If you would like to sell something that is not on this list, please contact the F&SA to discuss.
***VERY IMPORTANT***
We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, please make sure all food is 100% nut free and
completely safe for those with any nut allergy. Please try to label your treats
stating the ingredients, if you can. Please try to avoid the use of non-vegetarian
ingredients where possible. Healthy treats are encouraged, such as popcorn,
fruits, vegetable sticks and home baked fruit bars.
The school will claim money via the F&SA to pay for activities, as needed.
The F&SA will then transfer the amount to the school.
The school office is aware of the balance of each year group and will contact the F&SA should that not be enough to cover the cost of the activity.
If the F&SA deems it appropriate, it will advance the money and cover the cost and inform class reps.
You can make a donation to your year group via PayPal giving fund.
